Members of the Town Council's Strategy and Corporate Projects Committee which is being held last Thursday at 6:30pm, discussed the findings of a recent survey, completed by residents on community hall provision in the town.

The findings, which have been collated by Operations Team, detail the anger felt by some when Powys County Council demolished the youth club in Maesyrhandir, which has led to a loss of community hall provision in the area.

The survey findings which show that over half of the respondents currently do not use community hall provision. Some of the reasons given why are due to clashes in timings or the lack of need for provision.

Some responses also indicate respondents would rather the Town Council continue to hold the lease at and repair Northside Community Hall, which we recently reported was due to be handed back to Powys by the Town Council.

The survey was completed by 62 residents respondents.

Town councillors noted the low response rate and asked for the report to be split into the two corresponding area and brought back for discussion at another meeting.
