The town council, who manages the Robert Owen Gardens has been slammed on social media by several people due to the state of the Robert Owen Gardens. Photos posted on various groups online highlighted the untidy nature of overgrowing weeds and other plants.

Mandy Edwards on Facebook said: "Do they not realise tourists see all the town not just the bits they keep clean and tidy, there again we need tourists to come here and actually see it". An anoymous member online commented: "Where is the Town Councillor, where is the Mayor, what message is being given to residents and visitors?"
