The Met Office has issued Yellow Weather Warnings for thunderstorms as a plume of warm air is set to raise temperatures and increase the risk of thundery showers.

Today, the weather is expected to clear up quickly, providing plenty of sunshine throughout the day. However, as the afternoon progresses, the temperature will rise significantly, accompanied by scattered showers that could potentially turn heavy with thundery downpours. The maximum temperature for the day is forecasted to reach 28°C.

As the evening approaches, the showers will gradually ease, leaving behind clear spells. However, cloudy conditions are expected along the southern coasts, with a possibility of fog developing at times. The overnight period will remain rather warm, possibly feeling muggy at times, with a minimum temperature of 15°C.

Looking ahead to Sunday, coastal areas may experience murky conditions, while the rest of the region will see a gradual increase in cloud cover. Despite this, there will still be some warm and sunny spells throughout the day. In the afternoon, heavy showers are expected to develop, which could potentially be accompanied by thunderstorms. The maximum temperature on Sunday is predicted to be 25°C.

The outlook for Monday through Wednesday indicates that the warm weather will persist, with a continued risk of heavy showers. Monday specifically may see thunderstorms in some areas. The humidity levels will remain rather high, making the nights potentially uncomfortable for some individuals. However, Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to bring fine and sunny conditions for the majority of the region.

As the plume of warm air continues to affect the area, it is advisable for residents to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and warnings issued by the Met Office. Take necessary precautions when venturing outdoors, especially during heavy showers and thunderstorms, and stay informed about any local advisories or safety guidelines.
