"The bridge is being constructed and things are coming together."

"There is quite a way to go yet, but very shortly we will see more updates and more public updates."

"I've spoken to [the officer] and he has reassured me that it is progressing as it should do."

The footbridge which will be open for pedestrians and cyclists is being funded and constructed by Powys County Council as part of it's Active Travel work and will link Pool Road and Canal Road.

The scheme was granted planning permission back in March 2022.

The design of the proposed footbridge showcases a functional yet visually appealing structure that will become a notable landmark in the area. With a length of approximately 61 meters, the bridge will feature steel arches rising approximately 9 meters above the bridge deck at its highest point. The deck itself will be 3.5 meters wide, with a sturdy 1.4-meter-high balustrade for safety. This elevated vantage point will provide pedestrians and cyclists with captivating views of the river and the surrounding landscape.
