Half of all schools in Newtown are forecasting a deficit budget by 2024/2025.
A report due to be considered by the Council's Cabinet on 26th July 2022, has revealed that 3 out of the 6 schools in Newtown are forecasting to be in a deficit budget by the 2024-2025 financial year.
The worst of these is Newtown High School, estimated to be in a deficit of £173,114 by 2024-2025 with Maesyrhandir and Treowen contributing to an overall deficit of all Newtown schools by 2024-2025 of just under half a million pounds - £499,509.
