Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council announced that complimentary parking will be available at Back Lane car park on two specific Saturdays.

On November 25th, locals can take advantage of the free parking while attending the 'Kicking Off Christmas' event, which promises a day of shopping, dining, and festive activities.

The second free parking day at Back Lane car park will be on December 2nd, coinciding with the nationwide initiative 'Small Business Saturday.'

This is an excellent opportunity for visitors to support local businesses by spending the day exploring Newtown's offerings.

In addition to the Town Council's generous contribution, Powys County Council will be offering free parking at their pay and display car parks on three important shopping days leading up to Christmas.

The long-stay car parks included in this initiative are Back Lane and the Gravel Car Park in Newtown. Free parking will be available on Saturday 9, Saturday 16, and Saturday 23 December, between 10am and 6pm.

It is important to note that this offer only applies to off-street car parks and does not exempt on-street parking restrictions. Short stay car parks will still charge a fee, with free parking limited to a maximum of two hours.

This initiative by both the Town Council and Powys County Council aims to support local businesses, encourage community engagement, and enhance the overall shopping experience in Newtown.
