The Riverside Venue, being constructed by Open Newtown on the site of the former Radio Hafren Building in the heart of Newtown's green space is set to get a new name.

Councillors on the Town Council's Strategy and Corporate Projects Committee will get an update on the build progress from Lead Councillor, Cllr Mike Childs.

A meeting of Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council to be held on 0707/22 at 18:30. Click here to join online.

His report to councillors includes an update on the build progress, delayed by national delays to electrical connections and information relating to the opening of the building.

The Riverside Venue, as it is called currently through it's build status is set to get a new Welsh name due to funding requirements. A press release is due to be issued by Open Newtown on the new name shortly.

The Riverside Venue was due to open in April 2022.
