Newtown AFC has announced the appointment of of its new Chairman following the departure of Howard Ellis.

Nick Evans, the owner of EvaBuild construction, has been appointed Chairman of Newtown AFC following its AGM held last night. The change in leadership signifies an exciting new phase for the club as it looks to build upon past achievements and chart a course toward an even brighter future.

Howard Ellis completes a successful five-year tenure as Chairman, during which he steered the club through challenging times, including the recent Covid-19 pandemic. Despite these difficulties, Newtown AFC achieved remarkable success on the pitch, securing consecutive Europa Conference appearances and a commendable third-place finish in 2021. Additionally, the club's junior academy recently attained Category A status.

As Chairman, Nick Evans will assume the responsibility of overseeing the club's operations, setting strategic direction, and ensuring the fulfillment of its mission to foster excellence both on and off the field. Known for his commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive culture, Evans is poised to inspire players, staff, and fans alike.

Nick said:

Nick Evans joins Newtown AFC at a time of immense potential. Under Evans' leadership, Newtown AFC will aim to solidify its position within the league, strengthen its commercial partnerships, and remain an integral part of the local community.

Outgoing Chairman, Howard Ellis, expressed his confidence in Nick Evans' ability to lead the club to new heights.
