Newtown Food Festival CIC have hit back at claims that the 2022 festival will be scaled back due to cost.

Responding on Facebook to claims made in a Town Council meeting last week, the Newtown Food Festival CIC, an incorporated company who delivers elements of the annual Newtown Food Festival under contract by the Town Council announced that there would be no scaling back of the festival.

The post on Facebook said:

Newtown Food Festival began its journey in 2013 on a budget of next to nothing, hard graft and a positive attitude. Three volunteers with the support of Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council rolled up their sleeves and made it happen. Fast forward to 2022 with a two year pandemic behind us, we will once again roll up our sleeves, and yes, maybe tighten our belts, but we will make it happen. So contrary to some negative publicity today…
Will we be scaling back???
?ABSOLUTELY NOT….‼️?
So please share this news and share the love for our wonderful FREE festival which WILL return again with a bang.
If anyone would like to join our festival family as a volunteer or a sponsor and be a part of this community event, we’d love to hear from you, our door is always open to new ideas!
Much love ?
Team Food Fest
